I started doing art at a young age. I was around four years old when my love for art first began. My parents believed that my ability in art was a gift from God, so they always encouraged me and praised me for my creations. As a child I would sit for hours each day drawing Disney characters hoping that one day I could maybe be a professional artist like Walt Disney. I continued my art journey in college taking courses in painting and drawing. After college I would go on to entertain at children’s church camps and church events such as Trunk or Treat drawing instantaneous artwork for children to take home.
Eventually, I would go on to illustrate children’s books such as the Molly Tailwagger series, a children’s book series based on my dog Molly. The series was created to teach children about God’s love as well as practical lessons such as honesty and integrity.
After the completion of the Molly Tailwagger series, I went on to teach art at Montessori school for a year. Now I am in a new chapter in my art career. While I am still active as an illustrator for books, I have expanded my art career to create drawings for individuals, families, and pets upon request.
The purpose for my art is to use my talent to bring joy and happiness to others. I want to create art for others that will last a lifetime whether it be for an individual or as a gift to loved ones. As the famous Brazilian Artist and Painter Romero Britto stated, “Art is too important not to share.” So that is my goal. To share my art with others and to give them something that will last.
